# How many weeks have I lived?

> To find how many weeks you have lived, count the days since your date of birth and divide by 7. Someone who turns 30 has lived about 1,565 weeks, at 40 it is about 2,087 and at 50 about 2,609. Enter your date of birth below for your exact number of weeks and days.

## How is your age in weeks calculated?

The calculator counts the days between your date of birth and today, including every leap day, and divides that number by 7. Whole weeks are shown as weeks; what is left over is shown as extra days. The percentage compares your days lived with the number of days between your birth and your 90th birthday.

All of this happens in your browser. The dates are handled in UTC, so daylight saving time cannot shift the result by a day.

## How many weeks old are you at each age?

| Age | Weeks (approx.) | Days (approx.) |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 18 | 939 | 6,575 |
| 21 | 1,096 | 7,670 |
| 30 | 1,565 | 10,958 |
| 40 | 2,087 | 14,610 |
| 50 | 2,609 | 18,263 |
| 60 | 3,131 | 21,915 |
| 65 | 3,392 | 23,741 |
| 80 | 4,174 | 29,220 |

The table uses 365.25 days per year. Your own number can differ by a day or two, depending on how many leap years fall within your life so far.

## When do you reach a round number of weeks?

Round numbers in weeks fall on unexpected dates, which makes them fun to celebrate:

- **1,000 weeks** is about 19 years and 2 months.
- **2,000 weeks** is about 38 years and 4 months.
- **3,000 weeks** is about 57 years and 6 months.
- **4,000 weeks** is about 76 years and 8 months.

One thousand weeks is exactly 7,000 days, so each of these milestones comes a little over 19 years after the previous one.

## What is the difference between this and the life grid?

This page gives you a number. The [life grid on the homepage](https://mylifeinpixels.com/) gives you a picture: every week of a 90-year life as one box, with the weeks you have lived filled in. The grid uses 52 weeks per year, so it is a little less exact but much easier to read. ## Frequently asked questions

### How many weeks old is a 30-year-old?

About 1,565 weeks. Thirty years is 10,957 or 10,958 days depending on leap years, and 10,957 ÷ 7 = 1,565.3. On a life calendar with 52 weeks per year, the 30th birthday falls at week 1,560.

### How many weeks old is a 40-year-old?

About 2,087 weeks. Forty years is 14,610 days, and 14,610 ÷ 7 = 2,087.1. On a life calendar with 52 weeks per year, the 40th birthday falls at week 2,080.

### How do I calculate my age in weeks by hand?

Multiply your age in years by 365.25, add the days since your last birthday, and divide the total by 7. For a quick estimate, multiply your age by 52 and add one week for every six years.

### Does the calculator store my date of birth?

Only in your own browser, so the life grid on the homepage can use the same date. It is never sent to a server, and the "Reset my data" button in the tool removes it.

### Why is the number different from the life grid?

The calculator counts real calendar weeks: days lived divided by 7. The life grid uses exactly 52 weeks per year so that every row starts on your birthday. The grid therefore runs about one week behind for every six years of age.
